Spring Time: Fuchsia Nails and Lips + TIPS

image

Aloha beautiful!

I love wearing my comfort colors which typically range from a lighter nude to a deeper brown, however, every now and then I have my ‘I can do it’ moments and dare to break out of my shell and go bold. Especially during spring time when I see all these beautiful trees and flowers blossoming… I can’t help but feel inspired.

TIP: If you want to try bold colors but don’t feel comfortable rocking a bold makeup look just yet – try using colors as an accent (e.g. bold lip, color pop in your tight line or as simple as a handbag/purse in a fun, vibrant color,…).

I have been loving this color combo recently and had to share it with you guys. Matching nails and lips had a revival last year after having been banned from the makeup world for a while. However, I feel like there are no rules in my makeup world and there shouldn’t be any in yours either.

Fuchsia is a vivid pinkish, purple, reddish color that is screaming: SPRING TIME to me.

I love to pair fuchsia colored nails and lips with a nice emerald green top and jeans, an all white summery dress or with a anything that has a big, colorful flower print 🙂

Nails:

TIP: Always apply a layer of base- and top coat (if you are on a budget – you can use the top coat as your base coat as well). The base coat helps to smooth out the surface of your nails and also to prevent your natural nail from discoloration. The top coat seals in the color, makes it shinier, stronger and allows your nail polish to stay vibrant for longer without chipping off easily.

Lips: In order to get this intense fuchsia color I was going for, I first lined and filled in my lips with the

  • NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl (this is a beautiful red with slight blue undertones – that makes your teeth look much whiter whereas a more orange undertone will make your teeth look a bit more yellow).

I love this combo in particular as the matte lip pencil serves as my base and helps applying my lipstick sharp and clean (especially around the edges). The

TIP: If you have issues with your (liquid) lipstick bleeding – try to use a lip pencil to line your lips and fill them in slightly. If you do not want a colored based, L’oreal has a transparent lip pencil which is great

It is such a comfortable mattifying lip creme (mousse) that feels very comfortable and hydrating on my lips. It is made with GelLite technology that gives you this nice matte velvety look without drying out your lips (not matte as in a liquid lipstick!)

I hope you ladies are all enjoying the warmer temperatures and all the joys that come with it. I would love to know what your favorite spring color or color combo  at the moment is?

Get out of YOUR shell today and try a color you haven’t tried out yet. Life is too short to only wear nudes 😉

Have a great start in to your week, beautiful! I hope it will be a positive one!
