My Go To Make Up Look (Video) Using My Favorite Products

Aloha beautiful!

Some of my greatest memories of my childhood have been the times when I was watching my mother getting ready for an event and putting on her make up and spraying her favorite, very distinctive perfume on (Opium – from Yves Saint Laurent). I would sit on the floor with my mouth wide open, staring at my mother with admiration.

My mother is a very fierce and charismatic woman by nature but there was something special about how she would command the room after she had put on her makeup. It made me want to be just like her.

Even though there are days I go without putting on any make up (and I feel great about that) – I find it very therapeutic to take the time out of my day just for myself and.  Ever since I was younger, I love how makeup can make you feel (fierce, self-confident, girly, natural, sexy,…). Every day I decide how I want to feel and what I want to do with my make up (after all I can just wash it off at the end of the day).

I believe that everyone is beautiful and by accentuating your inner beauty (the radiance of your eyes, the warmth of your smile, etc…) you can take a step towards feeling more gorgeous, confident and happy!

Tinted Moisturizer: NARS Pure Radiant tinted moisturizer with SPF in the shade Saint Moritz (= When I want just a little bit of coverage for a ‘my skin but better’ type of makeup look)

Foundation: Too Faced – Born this way in the shade light beige (= for a bit more of coverage but if I still want it to look like my skin)

Under Eye Corrector/Brightener:  Becca cosmetics – Under Eye Brightening Corrector (= this is great to brighten dark circles and make the light reflect; rather for lighter skin tones)

Concealer/Brightener: NARS – Radiant creamy concealer in the shade custard (=my ride or die concealer)

MAC – Prep and prime in the shade light boost (a great yellow based brightening pen)

Setting powder: NARS in translucent crystal (= great for the T-Zone)

Too Faced – Chocolate soleil powder in medium-dark (= Best bronzer, it gives you a sunkissed tan)

Blush:  Milani -Baked Blush in Luminoso (= great universal luminous blush that goes with a lot of skin tones)

Highlighter: Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Palette (= for a settle and lit from within kind of glow)

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Wiz in medium brown and the clear brow gel

Kohl Pencil:

Clarins – Eye pencil in 01 noir waterproof (= intense black; great for smoking out upper or lower lash line or to put in your tight line)

Eyeliner: Kat von D – Tattoo Liner in trooper  (= easiest to draw the wing)

Make Up Forever – Matte Ink Liner (= intense, black matte finish)

Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Gel Liner – Blackest Balck (= best of both worlds)

Mascara: Artdeco – Angel Eyes (= best mascara I have ever tried)

Rimmel – Lash Accelerator ( = great for the bottom lashes)

Lashes: Ardell – Demi Whispies

My most favorite eye product is the Clarins – Eye pencil in 01 noir waterproof !

LIPS

I like to contour my lips for a fuller pout and either stay in the neutrals or put on a classic,  sexy red

Lipliner: MAC (stripdown, stone), LA girls (natural crème and cappucino)

Lip Products:

MAC – Fresh Brew (luster finish), Whirl (matte finish)

Kat Von D – Lolita and Bow & Arrow (liquid lipstick)

  1. I love this! At the beginning where you reflect on your mother, I was in awe from reading it! Its like you climbed into my head and took me on a journey 10 years back! I would gaze at my mother and watch her form into an iron lady every morning ready to take on whatever the day brought with a sweep of mascara and dusting of blush! My love for beauty was inherited from my mother, the art behind the makeup and what it does for an individual in terms of confidence, happiness and acceptance of yourself is astonishing! I can enhance, conceal, and create whatever i want whenever I want to make me happy and no one can take that away from me! This was well written, the layout was clear and concise and your video was superb! You should be very proud of yourself xoxo

    1. Oh my goodness, what a wonderful message! Thank you so much – that just made my day 🙂

I love how you’ve also inherited your love for beauty and makeup from your mum.
I believe that behind a strong woman is an army of empowering women and I love how we have the same view on makeup and I agree that it transforms you into a fierce, strong, confident woman. Ya – no one can take that away from us.

It feels so great having found a like minded woman in you.

I am so looking forward reading about your thoughts on my future posts and I also can’t wait to follow you on your wonderful journey and get inspired.

      xoxo

      1. Thank you so much! Having just left high school last academic year, I was always surrounded by narrow minded people who assumed I put time and effort into makeup primarily for the acceptance of someone else. The truth was that the person I made an effort for was me and I accept myself no matter how many flaws I have. Your optimism is contagious and I hope your blog reaches out to thousands of men and women to let them know they can love themselves ❤️❤️❤️

        1. You are AMAZING! Thank you so much and I wish you exactly the same!

That is so unfortunate but there will always be people like that…but never let anyone tell you you can not do something. I truly love to put on makeup/perfume on for myself and the way it makes me feel will obviously have an effect on others but I primarily do it for myself.
I am an intrinsic driven person and love that you are the same.

          Have an amazing day/evening

  2. I love the Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer! My favourite product at the moment. Plus I love UD and loads of the bits you’ve mentioned. You are spot on with some of comments. Make up can make me feel so confident but I still have times without it where I’m comfortable in my own skin. Love this and you are a natural beauty. Enjoy it both ways hunnie Xxx

    1. Thank you so much Traci_Ann. Isn’t it funny how our early childhood influenced and shaped us? I love it!

    1. Faiza!! Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate that a lot!

The shade and light palette is probably one of my top 5 makeup items.

I love the variety of contour and setting shades. They are extremely blendable and easy to build up. If you go overboard you can look a bit muddy but otherwise I love this palette. Contour shades are great as crease colors, too.

Have a fab day and thanks so much for stopping by.
